What a beautiful day… the sky was blue, the sun was warm and everyone was happy. There’s’ just something about Byron Bay weddings that makes me smile and go all warm and fuzzy inside. It feels like home in some ways… not sure why, maybe it’s the relaxed, go at your own pace atmosphere that’s draped throughout the streets and beaches… or the scenic drive through Pottsville backed by Jose Gonzalez… or it could be Mac’s Takeaway who just happen to do he BEST chicken wraps from here to Wangaratta. Either way Byron weddings never cease to amaze me. And when you mix that with a gorgeous couple like Brett & Jade, it gets kinda magical.  :)

On Sunday we had one of our most fun e-sessions yet! When I asked Louise and Rory to bring along something they love for their e-session, they decided to bring their baby-fluff-ball-chuppy! AWWW! Charlie is such a little cutie pumpkin pie! I think I probably took more photos of him than I would of if he was a human baby… It’s kinds weird like that, I think I’m more maternal to animals than human babies… probably just until I have my own and get the bug at least. :)

So we caught up with Rory and Louise {who just happens to be the AMAZING coordinator of the gorgeous Manta and Peppers at Salt} at Broadbeach for a little fun in the sun… and boy did the sun decide to make some gorgeousness with the light. Seriously swoon worthy.

We had an AMAZING time shooting the promo photos for the launch of our NEW RANGE of extras for e-sessions on Sunday! As you may know the importance of e-sessions is a bit of a biggie for me. There’s nothing better to break the ice or kick start a friendship than an e-session. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever had an e-session where I didn’t walk away feeling like I’ve been blessed to have just made some amazing friends. Which is awesome when it comes time to shoot the wedding!

Plus, I really think your everyday this-is-who-we-are-right-now love story deserves a little merit and preservation, not only your wedding day. After all, fairy tales never begin at “happily ever after”.

So, we’ve been thinking of ways to make your e-session even more fun, even more unique, even more YOU. We’ve been working with our industry faves to create the perfect additions to your e-session. And I think you’re gonna love what we’ve come up with!

The first thing we decided you really want is someone to create your look, to make your photos more personal and about you. So, you own personal stylist working with you leading up to the shoot and on hand throughout the session should fix that! And I wouldn’t recommend anyone but Kristy of Imbue Weddings. Gosh, I love working with her! She has such an amazing ability to complete a story through styling. She has a range of specially designed e-session packages that should suit you perfectly!

Next, is hair and makeup. Nothing completes a look more, or adds an extra dose of ready-for-photos-confidence than gorgeous hair and stunning makeup. For this we have the ever amazing Amanda Higl. Amanda really is one of the most talented and nicest people you could hope to meet. Her hair and makeup packages are affordable and her work truly is inspiring.

Then, just because every girl should always have an excuse for an extra wardrobe addition, why not treat yourself to a little vintage label from Scarlett’s Wardrobe, if that’s your thing!

Last week we had the pleasure of catching up with Mark and Delyle for their e-session in Brisbane. I’m such an advocate for the humble e-session. Apart from getting some fun and relaxed photos before the big day, I believe it’s the BEST way to get to know your photographer. After an hour of much talking and laughing it feels like we’re saying goodbye to old friends when its tome to leave. What more could you ask for… :)

SUCH a beautiful, intimate wedding. Hastings point is one of my most favorite places, so when we have weddings there, i just know i’m going to have a ball! Kaine & Sheena were married right on the headland, overlooking the glorious coast.

Again, last weekend we were blessed with a beautifully divine couple and wedding. One of my favorite things about being a people photographer is seeing and being a part of families and all the warm and fuzzies that come along with them. I see parts of my own family in just about every wedding, which just makes me love and appreciate them more. And reminds me that no matter how different we all are and how ‘crazy ‘our own family is that really, most families are much the same, full of love.

Simon & Evie were married at the Greek Orthodox Church of St. Anna T Bundall, which is so so pretty, with the most amazing light. Then we headed to Emerald Lakes for bridal party photos, really REALLY love this place. I think I could shoot here for the rest of my life and still find a cute little nook to discover with glorious colours and textures… mmm…

Then we headed back to Links hope island for the reception.

We had the pleasure of working with Barb from Fisheye again - BONUS! I know some photographers can’t handle working with videographers…having to ’share’ their bride and groom blah blah blah… but personally I LOVE it! Maybe it’s just because we’ve only had the pleasure of working with amazingly kind and talented ones. ;)

Last Sunday we had Allison & Rohan’s Topiarie’s wedding. It was such a perfect day… well is was slightly cool, but perfect none the less.

Topiaries is such a beautiful venue. Seriously. So many pretty little places and things lying around. If your looking for somewhere country pretty around Brisbane, be sure to check it out.

Allison & Rohan also had a First Look - YAYYYY!!! First looks are when the couple meet before the ceremony for a quiet moment before the formalities begin. It’s SOOOO gorgeous and sweet and intimate. I think it’s such a nice idea to have at least a moment just together, on your wedding day. Makes for some beautiful and honest photos too. Plus, it helps you to relax and really enjoy the ceremony…
