{stuff i’m luuuurvin}

January 22, 2010

Here is a pretty little list of things that are filling my aesthetic thoughts of late…

~ white, white, white… oh sweet whiteness…

~ old furniture, especially if it’s white

~ simple stuff

~ way too over-the-top patterns

~ handwriting &  pretty papers

~ mix matched chairs

~ glass… glass bottles and jars… mmm

~ ribbons and beads

~ hand made stuff

And totally unrelated, thought I would share a pic of little Miss E. She was cold in the air-con the other day at the studio, and being the middle of summer I didn’t have a jumper for her so we tried a scarf… and it worked! Plus she looked super-ridiculously-CUTE!

{A woman & her Oreo’s}

January 21, 2010

Yesterday was hot. When I came home I flicked on the air-con, changed into my PJ’s and snuggled into bed with a packet of Oreo’s - all under a minute. Before even one cartoon had finished - there were TWO Oreo’s left! Luckily, when I started, the pack had already taken a hit, so it was only half full… but that was because I got to them the day before… {!!!} As I tried to tempt Brett with “at least ONE” so I didn’t actually eat the whole 12 serving packet on my own, it became apparent. I’m an Oreoaholic.

Brett was all “I don’t want one, just leave it…” But that just doesn’t happen for me. I can’t just leave a single, solitary Oreo to fend for himself until next time. That just sux. One is never enough. It would be like planning my own torture… setting my own trap…Seriously. That was not going to happen.

So, as I was de-creaming the second last {because the cream isn’t what makes them decadent perfection, why consume more unnecessary calories, right?!} … pleading again if Brett would just have this last one… he took action. Because he loves me. He grabbed the slim line, prettily stamped cookie and dropped it on the floor. Because he knew I couldn’t. I love him. :)

{Azrin & Jane}

January 19, 2010

When it comes to words, i’m not the best. I find is SO much easier to show what I mean with diagrams, pictures, insperation boards, paints, colours, lines… words are just too academic for my brain. It sucks. Especially when blogging. I mean, I try. I try to explain what I mean with the formality of words & letters, but I often feel like i’m doing an injustice to the beautiful things around me.

Last weeks wedding of Azrin & Jane is one of those days where I wish I could take a photograph of my heart to show you rather than diminishing the day to my lack of written talent. Jane & Azrin are total gems. They are such warm, loving, caring & sweet people. It truly was a blessing to share in their day. And their vows, GOSH! …I pretty much don’t get too emotional during ceremonies. I think it’s just that i’m concentrating so much on shots and the like that I don’t have room in my brain to think of one more thing. But last week I was a sobbing mess. Like it really shook me. Jane had written personal words of love and appreciation to those close to her. She said all the things you feel but don’t really get a chance to say in day to day life. Clarah Luxford led the ceremony, so amazing…

We also had the pleasure of working with Barbara from Fisheye studio for the first time. Barbara is a rock star, you really need to check out her work.

To the sneakin’…
